The mind is one of the most powerful tools that we possess. It allows us to predict, plan, analyze and protect ourselves from danger. Thanks to it we can function in the world and make rational decisions. The problem begins when it stops being a tool and becomes a dominant “commander.” Instead of supporting, it begins to control every sphere of life, cutting us off from the body, emotions and intuition.
The first sign is the constant analyzing of everything. Every decision, even a minor one, grows to the rank of a problem to be solved. You consider all possible scenarios, try to predict the consequences and make sure that the choice will be ideal. As a result, you often do not act at all or you do it with enormous tension, because the debate in your head is still ongoing.
The second sign is difficulty with feeling emotions in the body. You may know that something should make you sad or happy, but you do not feel it fully. Emotions are as if muted, distant, turned into thoughts and interpretations. Instead of experiencing, you analyze why you feel what you feel.
The third sign is the need for a perfect plan before taking any action. You have the impression that you cannot move until everything is buttoned up to the last detail. You wait for the moment of full readiness, which never comes, because life by nature is unpredictable. In this way control becomes a form of avoiding risk and at the same time a blockage of development.
The fourth sign is mental fatigue despite the lack of significant physical effort. You may spend the day doing little in a material sense, and despite that feel completely exhausted. This is the effect of the mind’s constant work in the background. Thinking, planning and analyzing consume a huge amount of energy, even if the body remains still.
The fifth sign is the loss of contact with intuition. It becomes increasingly difficult for you to feel what you really want or what is good for you. You look for answers outside, in the opinions of others, in guides, in analyses, instead of within yourself. Decisions stop being based on an inner compass and begin to result from what seems the safest or the most rational.
When the mind takes the helm, we begin to live mainly in the head, not in the real experience of life. Tension, rigidity and the feeling that everything must be controlled so that nothing unexpected happens appear. The paradox is that the more we try to control, the less we feel peace.
Pause for a moment today and check which of these signs are closest to you. Pay attention to whether your decisions result from inner clarity or rather from the need to protect yourself from a mistake. Ask yourself when was the last time you did something spontaneously, guided by what you feel and not by what seems “reasonable.” Also think about what your life could look like if the mind were your ally and not a guard.
Regaining balance does not consist in turning off thinking, but in restoring cooperation between the mind, the body and the emotions. When these three levels begin to work together, calm, clarity and the feeling that you no longer have to control everything to feel safe appear.
In my e-book “Trilogy of Power – Integration of Body, Mind and Spirit” I show how to step out of the dominance of the mind and regain contact with yourself. You will find there practices that help calm excessive thinking, return to feeling and make decisions from the level of inner coherence. These are concrete tools thanks to which you can stop living only in your head and start truly experiencing life.
💛 This is the third e-book from the series “Journey to Yourself” – a cycle that leads you step by step to regaining your power and authenticity. The third stage of this journey focuses on the integration of body, mind and spirit, so that you can live in balance instead of in constant tension.
